Mobile Settings: controlling your members’ app experience
Four per-location toggles that change what members can see and do in the Octiv app
Mobile Settings control a few things about how your facility appears and behaves in the members’ Octiv app. They’re set per location, so you can configure each location independently.
Where to find them
Settings > Facility & Location > Mobile Settings
Select a location on the left (each shows how many of its toggles are on, e.g. “3/4”), set the toggles you want, and click Save changes. To copy the current settings to every location at once, use Apply these to all locations.
The settings
- Membership cancellation — allow members to request membership cancellation from the mobile app. When on, members can send a cancellation request from the app; it goes to your staff to approve (it doesn’t cancel automatically). See “Member self-cancellation and the Scheduled Actions approval queue” for the full flow.
- Class images — show images for Classes on the mobile app schedule (see “Adding class or session images” below).
- Session images — show images for Sessions on the mobile app schedule (see below).
- Show outstanding invoices on Dashboard — show a member’s outstanding invoices on their mobile app dashboard.
Adding class or session images
Turning Class images or Session images on is what makes the image field appear when you add or edit a class or session. On that form (Scheduling → add or edit a class/session), an “Upload image to display for this class on the mobile app” area appears — click to upload or drag a file in, then Upload. If the toggle is off, that upload area isn’t shown.
Image guidelines: max 4mb, PNG recommended. Images are autocropped, so a 9:10 aspect ratio gives the best result on the app schedule.
Turning a setting off simply removes that behaviour from the app for that location; it doesn’t delete any data. You can change these at any time.
