How Do I Submit My Branded App?

Submit your facility's logo, icon, and app details to get your own white-label app on the App Store, Google Play, and Huawei AppGallery.

Settings > Facility & Location > Branded App

The Branded App is a white-label version of the Octiv member app, published under your facility's own name, icon, and brand colours. It looks like your own app, but runs on the same Octiv platform - members get the identical Octiv feature set, and your staff keep using the Octiv staff portal exactly as before. The Branded App hides Octiv Explore and the facility dashboard card, since members are already in your branded environment.

The Branded App tab must first be enabled for your facility as an add-on. Once it's enabled, the Owner has access automatically. Admins and Location Admins need to be granted access before they can see or submit assets - see below.

Granting access to the Branded App

The Branded App tab won't appear in Settings for a staff member until this permission is turned on.

  1. Go to Staff.
  2. Click the menu icon next to the staff member's name and select View/Edit.
  3. Open the Access tab.
  4. Under Octiv Access, check Branded App ("Ability to access the Branded App.").
  5. Click Submit.

See Editing Staff Details for more on managing staff access.

Submitting your Branded App assets

Go to Settings > Facility & Location > Branded App. The checklist shows how many of the 5 required items are complete - every item must be checked off before you can submit:

  • App Icon - 1024 x 1024 PNG
  • Splash Screens - dark and light versions
  • Feature Graphic - 1024 x 500 PNG
  • App Metadata - all required fields
  • Keywords - used for App Store search

Under App Information, fill in:

  • App Name - max 25 characters (this satisfies the most restrictive store)
  • Short Description - max 80 characters (Google Play short description)
  • Full Description - max 300 characters (App Store and Play full description)

Each field and checklist item shows a green checkmark once it's valid. A live character counter shows how much room you have left as you type.

Note: If your logo or graphics aren't the right size or format, use a free tool like imageresizer.com to resize them before uploading.

Submitting for App Submission

Once all 5 checklist items are complete, the status changes from Not started to Ready to submit and the Submit for App Submission button becomes active.

  1. Click Submit for App Submission.
  2. A Finalise App submission dialog explains that once you continue, you won't be able to update any submitted values or image assets.
  3. Click Confirm to finalise, or Cancel to go back and keep editing.

Note: Confirming locks the entire page - the checklist and App Information fields all become read-only. Double-check your assets and descriptions before confirming.

After you confirm, a banner reads "Your app submission is in progress" while Octiv builds and submits your branded app to the App Store, Google Play, and Huawei AppGallery.
