How do I set up a free or promotional class package?

Creating a zero-cost package for events and specials

You can offer a free promotional class (e.g. a Valentine's Day special or a free trial session) by creating a package with a price of zero. This must be managed carefully to prevent members from self-purchasing it publicly.

Steps to Create a Free Promotional Package
1. Go to Settings >> Packages >> Add New Package.

  1. Set a clear package name (e.g. "Valentine's Day – Free Session").
  2. Set the price to R0 / €0 (free).
  3. Set the session quantity to 1 (or the appropriate number of sessions).
  4. Ensure "Display on App" and "Display on Widget" are turned OFF so members cannot self-purchase.
  5. In Manage Classes, set a maximum capacity on the class to prevent overbooking.
  6. Manually assign the free package to each qualifying member or non-member from their profile.

⚠ *Every Octiv profile requires a unique email address. Non-members cannot share an email or be added without one. Ask for their personal email address when setting up profiles for an event.*
