How do I configure the Vitality integration for my facility?

Vetting, setup, notifications and the check-in QR code for Vitality.

Step 1 — Join the Vitality Network (get vetted)
Your facility must be vetted and approved by the Vitality Fitness team (vitalityfitness@discovery.co.za) before the integration can be enabled. Vetting is per-location — each branch must be vetted separately. Once Vitality confirms your vetting, they notify Octiv and Octiv Support enables the integration on the backend. (Only Vitality can confirm vetting, and only Octiv can enable it — it isn't something you switch on yourself.)

Step 2 — Set your Health Provider Price and choose your classes
Your classes won't appear on the Discovery app until you set a Health Provider Price and select which classes it applies to — see How do I make my classes show on the Discovery Vitality app and get paid? (In short: Settings >> Packages >> Drop-In >> Create or Edit >> "Health Provider Price", then Settings >> Packages >> Drop-Ins >> Actions >> Manage Classes to pick the classes.)

Step 3 — Enable Vitality notifications
Turn on the Vitality emails (sent to you and to your Vitality leads): Settings >> Comms >> Notification >> Discovery >> View/Edit >> Enable.

Step 4 — Your check-in QR code
Once live, your check-in QR code becomes dynamic and changes every 30 minutes.

  • Existing members earn points by checking in and out of every class using this QR code in the app. They must be booked into the class first, and Vitality requires a minimum 30-minute attendance — checking in and out records the timestamps needed for points.
  • Vitality leads booking through the Discovery app scan the QR with their phone camera, complete their details, give consent, and submit.

Display the QR live on a screen (don't screenshot or share it), with a stable internet connection.

Step 5 — Find your Vitality leads
Bookings made through the Discovery app appear under Leads >> Manage, marked with a pink "V" (also visible on the schedule).

Leaving the QR on an unattended device
To leave the QR on a tablet at your front desk, create a Location Check-in staff profile — a staff login whose only access is the QR code, so the device can be left unattended without exposing the rest of your Octiv account. See How do I add admin staff and trainers?
