How do Octiv Pay (Stripe) payouts and fees work?
See your Octiv Pay balance and payout timing, view Stripe’s per-transaction fees, and export your payments — all under Accounts › Payouts.
If your facility uses Octiv Pay (powered by Stripe), everything to do with your payments and payouts is found under Accounts >> Payouts.
When you get paid
Your available funds are paid out to your bank automatically on a T+3 business-day schedule. To view or change it, go to Accounts >> Payouts >> Recent Payouts >> See Details >> Update Payout Settings. There's nothing you need to do to release a payout — a payment reaches your balance and pays out automatically once its status is Succeeded.
SEPA Direct Debit payments take a few extra business days to settle into your balance before they can be paid out, so they arrive a little later than card payments. This is Stripe's settlement timing, not an Octiv delay.
Checking your balance
Go to Accounts >> Payouts >> Recent Payouts and click See Details. Your balance is shown as:
- On the way to your bank — funds already sent to your bank.
- Upcoming payouts (estimated) — funds due to be paid out next.
- Available in your balance — funds ready to pay out.
- Total balance — the overall total.
Seeing the fees on a payment
There is no separate platform or tax invoice — Stripe's fees are deducted automatically from each payment and shown on the transaction itself. To see them, go to Accounts >> Payouts >> Recent Payments and click a transaction. Under Payment details you'll see:
- Status and Date received
- Amount — and, if the member was charged in a different currency to your payout currency, the exchange rate and converted amount (hover the "i" for an explanation, e.g. "Your customer was charged in GBP, but we'll transfer the funds to you in EUR")
- Processing fees (the Stripe processing fee)
- Net — what you actually receive after fees
- Description — e.g. the membership invoice reference
This per-transaction breakdown is the usual answer to "why doesn't the amount I received match the amount charged?" — the difference is the Stripe processing fee (and any currency conversion).
Exporting your payments
To export your Octiv Pay payments, use the Export payments option under Accounts >> Payouts >> Recent Payments.
- Choose a date range — Today, Current month, Last 7 days, Last month, All, or Custom.
- Choose your columns — a default set of 23 is selected (including ID, amount, fee, net/converted amount, currency, description, customer email, and invoice ID), and you can add more, up to 85 columns in total.
- Run the export.
