How do I use the Workout Timer in the Octiv app?
Run AMRAP, For Time, EMOM, Tabata and Mix timers from your phone, with a countdown and pause.
The Workout Timer lets you run AMRAP, For Time, EMOM, Tabata, and Mix workout timers right from the Octiv app, with a countdown and pause control.
Profile >> Workout Timer
You can also open it straight from your Dashboard — tap the Workout Timer button for quick access without going through your profile.
Choosing a timer format
Pick a format:
- AMRAP — as many rounds as possible in a time cap.
- For Time — finish the work as fast as possible, up to a time cap.
- EMOM — every minute on the minute, set by intervals per round and number of rounds.
- Tabata — short, intense rounds with a brief rest between each.
- Mix — stack AMRAP, For Time, EMOM and Tabata blocks into one circuit.
Countdown to start and pausing
On every format, choose a Countdown to start — None, 0:05, 0:10, or 0:15 — as the lead-in before the clock starts running. Once a timer is running, tap Pause to stop the clock and Finish to end the session.
Setting custom Tabata intervals
Tabata isn't fixed to 20 seconds on / 10 seconds off. Set Rounds, then choose your own Work and Rest times from the preset options, or select Custom on either to enter your own interval.
Building a Mix timer
Mix lets you stack a sequence of intervals into one session. Use + Workout Type to add an AMRAP, For Time, EMOM or Tabata block, and + Work / + Rest to add plain work or rest intervals between them. Set Circuit to repeat the whole sequence, then choose a countdown and start.
Note: Using a computer instead? See How do I use the Live Timer? for the web/Trainer View version.
