What is Octiv Explore & how do I set it up?
Make your facility discoverable on the Octiv Explore map
Octiv Explore is your facility’s public profile on a live map of fitness facilities — think of it as your gym’s digital storefront. It helps new members find you, view your profile and class schedule, and sign up or buy a drop-in directly. This article covers how to complete your Explore profile.
All locations are automatically enabled on Explore, so the important thing is making sure your profile is complete and accurate — that’s what gets you discovered.
The dashboard prompt
If your Explore profile is missing any of its required fields, a prompt appears on your Dashboard reminding you to complete it. The prompt stays until all three required fields are filled in:
- Cover Image (the location’s feature image)
- Bio
- Address
Once those are done, the prompt disappears and the location shows as “fully set up in Explore.” Follow the steps below to complete them.
Where to set it up
Settings > Facility & Location > Location Settings
Explore is set up per location — if you have more than one location, complete the profile for each using the location selector at the top. A banner shows “Your location is fully set up in Explore” once the required sections are done. Click Submit in each section to save it.
Profile & Media (required)
- Location image and branding — upload a feature image (max 4mb, PNG recommended). Use Replace or Remove to change it later.
- Bio — a short description of your facility.
Address (required)
Enter your Physical Address accurately — this is how leads find your facility on the Octiv Explore map. The Map Pin must resolve (you’ll see “Map pin resolved — map will show on your Explore profile”) so your location appears in the right place.
If your billing address differs from your physical address, tick “Is your billing address different from your physical address?” and enter it — the billing address is the one that reflects on your invoices to members.
Amenities (recommended)
Tick everything your facility offers from the list — for example Showers, Lockers, Restrooms, Sauna, Cold Plunge/Ice Bath, Parking, Free Wi-Fi, Coffee Shop, Water Refill Station, Personal Training Services and Outdoor Training Area, among others. Amenities help members filter and find you, so it’s worth completing even though it’s not required.
Contact & Social (optional)
Add your Contact Number, Email Address, Facebook, Instagram and Website URL so prospects can reach you directly from your profile.
Check the Explore Preview
The Explore Preview panel shows exactly how your profile looks to members in the app — your image, bio, address with Get Directions, amenities, and the View Schedule, Buy Package and Buy Drop-In actions. Use it to check everything looks right before you finish.
Once your required fields are in and you’ve hit Submit for each section, the dashboard prompt clears and you’re ready to be discovered on Octiv Explore.
