# How do I create and manage member groups?

## Group members into your own custom categories for easier visibility and filtering.

Member Groups let you organise your members into your own custom categories — for example by belt rank, class type, or membership perk — so you can find and filter them more easily.

 

## Creating a group

**Members \> Groups \> Create New**

1. Go to **Members \> Groups**.
2. Click **Create New**.
3. Give the group a name (e.g. "Gold Belt", "Kids", "Off Peak") and save.

*Note: Groups are scoped to one location, the same way Packages are.*

 

## Adding members to a group

From **Members \> Groups**, open the group you want to update and add the members you want to include. Each member can belong to more than one group.

 

## Viewing and managing your groups

The **Members \> Groups** list shows, for each group, the number of **Members** in it, when it was **Created**, and who created it (**Created By**). Use the **Actions** menu to edit or delete a group, and the **Location** filter or **Search** box to find a specific group.

 

## Finding a member's groups

On **Members \> Manage**, each member's assigned group(s) show in the **Groups** column. Use the **Member Group** filter, alongside the other filters at the top of the page, to narrow the list to members in a specific group.
